There's Danger in A Beautiful High Heeled Shoe: Ankle Sprain

High-heeled shoes is the best friend of the wife and perhaps his worst enemy.
A high heel pump visually lengthens the appearance of a female calf, even giving those girls with less-than-perfect legs longer and look leggy. Worn with trousers, shoes with high heels giving a small woman in stature and to make all women look thinner.

But the high-heeled shoes - particularly those with heels two inches or more in height - can affect a woman, leading to possible sprained ankles and other diseases.

Perhaps every woman who wears high heels has experienced at least once this floating sudden lurch when she made a misstep and travel. Usually, the only thing that "injured" is pride, but high heels and not cause a sprained ankle - sometimes severe enough to require medical attention.

When the ankle ligaments are stretched just a little about their normal range when a woman in heels trips, there is usually little pain and swelling and life may continue as before.

But if traveling in high heels is reflected by a sharp pain and rapid swelling, ligaments were extremely stressed and may be torn and a visit to the doctor, plus reduced activity for several days or several weeks will be needed.

In fact, a severe sprain could really be a broken bone. The fibula (the long bones of the lower leg) or bones in the foot itself may be broken.

Therefore, any fall which leads to considerable ankle / pain in the lower leg should be taken very seriously.

So, women are relegated to their shoes sensible shoes running and perhaps the occasional ballet flat? Not necessarily.

In fact, a shoe closet apartment is not the best for the foot. Heels down a half to three quarters of an inch are great for everyday wear. A variety of apartments and low pumps is a good shoe wardrobe. Save those heels higher (about two inches) for special occasions. Walk longer distances in flat shoes (and for very long distances, to invest in a good pair of supportive shoes off) and change your shoes with heels higher when you arrive at your destination.

Also, avoid backless heels as much as possible. The lack of support to your back ankle can be very stressful to the muscles. Even Slingback pumps (a mule with a modified strap that goes around the heel) is better than no return at all, but shoes with the back of the ankle are the best full.

A lodging two inches high is really like a woman should go. Heels higher than two inches around the spine of a woman / buttocks out of alignment and can cause onions, back pain and a host of other ills. Two inch heels elongate the leg and still can give even the shortest and smallest of the women a look at the long legs, while preserving the health of legs and minimizing the risk of ankle sprains.

It is also a good idea to keep fit and exercise - women who exercise have stronger muscles. Stronger muscles help women avoid tensions. At the end of the day, stretch your legs, muscles of the foot and heel. This helps to maintain or increase range of motion.

Finally, it is you have foot pain at all for more than a few days, it is best to consult a doctor, particularly a podiatrist as soon as possible. Most chronic foot or ankle problem, it is more difficult to treat.
